The 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games marked a significant milestone for our company, as we were honoured to be selected from a competitive pool of worldwide event plumbing firms. This recognition was a testament to our expertise and commitment to excellence in delivering plumbing solutions on a grand scale. Upon receiving the award, we mobilized our A team, full of skilled professionals, to the Gold Coast, ready to embark on a journey that would span nearly three years and involve extensive collaboration with various stakeholders.

Our collaboration began in earnest with the games team, the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC), City of Gold Coast and our event plumbing partners. This multi-faceted initiative required a comprehensive approach, encompassing everything from hydraulic overlay design to the installation of critical water, waste, and gas services. Our planning and execution were meticulous, ensuring that every venue met the high standards expected of an international sporting event.

Over the course of 2.5 years, our team worked diligently to install plumbing services across 16 venues located throughout Queensland. This extensive project spanned a significant geographical area, reaching from Townville in the north to Coolangatta in the south. Each venue presented unique challenges and requirements, and our team was adept at adapting our designs to meet both the logistical and engineering demands. Our commitment to safety and quality was paramount as we navigated the complexities of such a large-scale operation.

In addition to the initial design and installation phases, we also provided ongoing monitoring during the event itself. This critical aspect of our service ensured that all plumbing systems operated smoothly throughout the Games, allowing athletes and spectators alike to enjoy a seamless experience. Transplumb Events oversaw a world standard of water quality testing for both the Athletes/Officials along with the venues patrons at all events & public zones. Our team’s proactive approach to addressing any issues that arose quicky helped maintain high service standards, contributing to the overall success of the Games.

As the events wrapped up, our focus shifted to dismantling and packing up the installations. This phase required careful coordination to ensure that everything was safely removed and that the venues were returned to their original states. Our team’s thoroughness in this final stage reinforced our reputation as reliable partners in large-scale projects, leaving a positive lasting impression with both the Games organizers and the stakeholders involved.

Being part of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games was a source of pride for our company. It showcased our capabilities in handling complex plumbing projects on an international level and highlighted our dedication to collaboration and excellence. The experience not only enriched our team’s skill set but also strengthened our relationships within the industry, paving the way for future opportunities to contribute to large-scale events.
